Common questions
How long does it take to heat up?
About 12–18 minutes after you plug it in. After that there’s essentially no reheat time between impressions, and a dark impression takes 2–4 seconds.
Which heater wattage do I need?
Plates under 4 in² use the 150W heater, and larger plates use the 250W. Plate size is height × width, so a 4" × 4" design is 16 in².
Can I change designs later?
Yes. All Gearheart electric irons take interchangeable heads, so you can order extra plates. Plates only fit Gearheart irons.
Can I brand food with it?
No. Brass isn’t recommended for direct food contact. Gearheart Kitchen makes aluminum irons for food.
Do you ship electric irons outside the US?
Electric irons are sold only within North America.
How long does production take?
Standard-size irons take 3–5 business days, plus approval of a proof photo. Rush production takes 1 business day.
